Eau Claire County Highway Department
The newly constructed Eau Claire County Highway Facility is an impressive establishment spanning approximately 140,000 square feet. It encompasses various essential components such as operations offices, emergency operations offices, a maintenance/repair bay equipped with a 5-ton overhead crane, a welding shop featuring a 10-ton overhead crane, a truck wash bay, and ample vehicle storage space. Additionally, the facility houses a kitchen, office, and meal preparation area dedicated to serving Eau Claire Meals on Wheels.
The building's structure boasts a combination of bar joists and metal deck, complemented by sturdy steel support framing. Concrete masonry units form the foundation for the lower bearing walls, while precast wall panels support the towering walls.
Adjacent to the primary structure stands an unheated vehicle storage building, designed to accommodate additional vehicles. This secondary building is constructed using pre-engineered metal and proudly features a rooftop solar array, contributing towards meeting the facility's energy requirements. With a total area of 30,000 square feet, it offers ample space for storage purposes.
